Lodgepole Pine furniture - this wood artisan uses knotty burl logs, leather, paintings, and wood carvings to accentuate his pieces and give them their unique western "rustic" flair; a sideboard table won an award in 1995 at the Western Design Conference and was later selected by the curators of the Buffalo Bill Historic Center to become part of the museum's permanent collection.

Twisted Juniper furniture - 2 exceptional wood artisans, Hugh and Brent, make our twisted juniper line. Hugh - the practical experience he gained in residential construction, starting in the late 1970's, led to the development of other skills in free form woodworking. In the late 1990's, he became involved with log home construction, leading to an expertise in scribing and fitting irregular wood pieces. Those who have taken the time to master this craft truly appreciate these tasks due to the level of detail entailed. The wood he ultimately transforms into a beautiful piece of furniture can sometimes be over 400 years old. Early settlers had to fence their properties and much of the juniper that was cut for fence posts would last up to 60 years or more in the ground. Juniper is very durable in moisture and harsh weather conditions.

No two pieces are the same - every one of them has their own characteristics and features. He starts by cutting selected pieces of wood and hauling them back to his shop. Often times the only reason the wood is still intact is due to the remoteness and inaccessibility of the terrain. Sometimes getting the pieces to his truck can be challenging. Once back to the shop, he strips the bark and cleans it by removing dirt and debris off the wood so it can begin the curing process. He has a dedicated portion of his shop for the curing and storage, out of the sunlight and humidity. This is a very important step overlooked by many. It can take up to 6 months, and is variable according to the condition of the piece. Once fully cured, the pieces are ready to assemble into finished furniture. The piece is assembled, sandblasted, hand sanded and coated with two layers of finish before being put into inventory for sale. Many times, pieces need to be matched according to size, shape, and overall characteristics.

Brent has a keen eye for the unusual and a passion for creativity in his work. He has stated that (twisted) juniper is his favorite wood and it grows abundantly only in 2 places on earth - Central Oregon and in the Holy Lands. According to Rustic Artistry for the Home magazine, Brent is one of the most accomplished of the free-form rustic artists. In fact, he has created pieces from burls and stumps that weighed over 10,000 pounds, requiring trucks and cranes to move both his materials and his finished artwork. According to Rustic Furniture Makers magazine, Brent creates beds that are probably the most extraordinary rustic beds ever created. Furthermore, Cascades East Magazine writes that Brent's work captures the rugged beauty and delicate balance of nature with his wild, primitive forms accentuated by graceful and elegant lines. To be certain, to own a piece of Brent's furniture is to have an artwork that is unmatched in beauty and character.

Old Adirondack Furniture - the makers of this furniture line can trace their history to the era of the Great Camps of the Adirondack Park circa 1880-1929. Any vision of American outdoor style includes classic Adirondack furniture. This icon originates in the great Northeast woodlands of the US and travels to every corner of our country. Rustic, yet refined, this furniture line is found lakeside, poolside, and in every backyard. Superb weathering characteristics of natural Northern White Cedar develop a soft gray weathered look of centuries past within a year in most climates. This Adirondack line gives any home a sense of permanence and history.

Hickory furniture

Made in Midwestern US; unique hickory furniture by award winning designer Jim Peed; this line offers 6 wood finishes and a wide assortment of fabrics and leather to choose from for their seating; this line will compliment any home décor or wood type; quality is no mistake with this vendor - they control the entire production process from the harvesting of the hickory to the drying of the wood to the handcrafting of each piece; the one-of-a-kind styling of these works of art and the breadth of product offerings set this vendor apart; hickory saplings are harvested during the winter when the sap is low ensuring that the bark will adhere to the piece indefinitely; highlights include drop-leaf wall table, hoop chair, Country pine coffee table, Loft sofa and chair, poster bed, parlor table, console table, gate leg table, hutch, sideboard tables, and focal table. Their most noteworthy collection is the Jonas Ridge Collection, which is a distinct collection of furniture derived from popular stick furniture designs of the late 19th and early 20th century America. With their design origins rooted in the American experience of the last century, the Adirondack style provided inspiration for these rich, contemporary interpretations of bedroom, dining, and living room furniture.

Western Heritage Furniture

Ghostwood Collection - made in Southwestern US; the pieces from this Western Heritage line are made from reclaimed wood from some of America's oldest structures, dating as far back as the early 1800's. After going through an intense 6 step restoration process, the wood is artistically integrated into refined rustic masterpieces suitable for even the most discriminating furniture buyer. Each piece tells a story rich with American history, reflecting on the superior craftsmanship of our early pioneers. Furthermore, this line also celebrates our western roots by incorporating hand-dyed and hand-tooled leather panels, available in three dye colors: Black, Cognac, and Merlot. Our craftsmen combine the leather appointments with hand forged iron legs and bases, hammered from solid steel and finished with a proprietary "gun-metal" technique, which are works of art all by themselves; highlights include Signature octagonal cocktail table, Riley Trestle dining table, Signature credenza, Sonoran sleigh bed, Silver tin panel bed, Brownstone buffet, and Cathedral display trestero; one piece of furniture can be the main feature in a room or an entire house - that's just how spectacular this line is.

Massive juniper furniture - made in Southwestern US; best example of functional art; so beautiful that you'd think it was artificially made; wood estimated to be 500 to 2000 years old; because Alligator juniper primarily grows in the desert forests of New Mexico and Arizona, it has withstood tremendous adversity to survive and this is reflected in the beauty of the wood; Burls, spikes, birds-eye and knots are some of the features that reflect its character; they cut down only dead-standing trees to ensure that their wood is well cured and stable. In fact, harvesting only trees which have been dead for lengthy periods, up to 60 years or more, enables them to produce furniture out of these massive and historic trees. Some of the highlights include massive beds, dining tables (stump, branch, trestle, & marble are some of the most common bases), hutches, and executive desks, which are sure to be the talk of any company.

Wagon Wheel furniture - made in Western US; creatively joins reconditioned wagon wheels and reclaimed hardwoods such as railroad ties to create lasting beauty; some customers include Six Flags amusement park, Texas Star, Lennie Marvin Studios, Disney, Yellowstone, and Yosemite; highlights include wagon wheel benches, mirrors, and chandeliers, tree stump and railroad tie benches, and wagon wheel coffee and dining tables; custom stagecoach and civil war canon reproductions; this furniture maker is a leader in cowboy and western furnishings.

Teak Furniture

Made in Costa Rica; Indoor & Outdoor furniture handcrafted from the very finest kiln-dried plantation teak; use only the highest grade of pure heartwood, known as First European Quality teak (50 years old or older); teak is the world's best wood for furniture because it has unique natural oils that repel moisture and protect the wood, making this durable line maintenance free; this company's reforestation efforts in Costa Rica have rejuvenated many hillsides and meadows formerly plagued by erosion as well as preserved large areas of primary and secondary jungle; they replenish what they harvest with new teak seedlings; the highlight of this line is the Spirit Song benches, whose design was created and patented in the US by Robert and Barbara Tiffany; the Spirit Song benches can be straight, curved, or compound curved and are available with 4 back rest style options; production of their new Spirit Song dining table and chairs has just begun.

African Furniture

Made in Tiwi beach just south of Mombassa in Kenya; all products are handmade from local hardwood using local labor without the use of electricity; the highlights of this line are the Shetani beds, 4-poster beds, gecko flat pack furniture, carved root tables (including their famous elephant tables), & African "throne" chairs; a lot of their furniture is made so that it can be "flat packed" - the most efficient method for exporting; there are no screws or bolts and all joints are in the traditional wedged method for easy assembly; Pippa Keith "Travel News and Lifestyle" July 2003 was quoted as saying "My words cannot really do justice to the work of such talented people and so I leave you to admire and hopefully eventually buy one of these bravura pieces"; owner, Michael J. Calnan, was quoted as saying "....everywhere one looks in Africa, on the beach, or in the bush, there are fascinating pieces of root or driftwood harboring natures own design, just waiting to be released through a skillfully wielded chisel of an African craftsman and a mountain of sandpaper" - in fact, most of this wood is hundreds if not, thousands of years old.

The highlight works are life-like birds of prey and woodland animals created by Lueb - an artisan whose wood carving skills are second to none. In addition to his talent, he goes through painstaking measures to ensure the highest quality and to sustain a 100% satisfied customer - unlike most wood carvers, his pieces will never check or crack because he goes through a time-consuming, kiln-drying process to remove the moisture in the logs prior to carving them.

Fur Blankets and Pillows - unique, one-of-a-kind blankets are crafted in the American tradition of lap robes used in 18th and 19th century sleighs, carriages, and homes. These blankets are manufactured with wild fur harvested by traditional methods that ensure long term viability of wildlife populations. These fur blankets and lap robes provide a rustic yet elegant touch for carriages, sleighs, homes, and guest accommodations. These custom, one-of-a-kind, natural fur goods made from renewable resources are perfect ways to accent rooms and stay cozy year round. Total quality control is in place as this artisan is personally involved in all aspects of the production process from collection and processing of furs to design and sewing of the finished pieces.

CVC Barrel Art - heirloom quality pieces made in Germany; the carvings and accent pieces from this line are made using wine barrels. These artisans use the "old world" techniques that have solidified German woodworkers as some of the greatest wood carvers this world has ever known. Some of the 18th and 19th century vintage hand carved replicas that these artisans create can take up to 6 months to complete. All pieces are sealed with enology grade wax. The wood types offered are black walnut, natural oak, and rustic oak. The wine barrel casks and beer kegs are made with iron or zinc hoops and have a precious metal insert (called a "Blister") that keeps the liquid cold regardless of the outside temperature. The blister is surrounded solidly by the highest quality insulation PU foam. The main highlight of this line is their family of Barrel Wine racks.
